On January 1, 2018 the Pool Safety Act became a law. On that date the scope of a home inspection on every single family residence, being transferred, which has a swimming pool, spa or hot tub, changed. The home inspection report must identify which of seven pool safety features are present and specifically state if there are few than two present. On the surface it doesn't sound complicated....but it is complicated. It is critical for the home inspection and real estate community to understand what is required by the Pool Safety Act.
